Domain Registration Terms
Nominet Terms & Conditions
At Brit Hoster, all .uk domain registrations are subject to Nominet's terms and conditions. You must review and accept these terms before completing any registration or renewal.
Domain Charges
Our domain-related charges include:
- Domain registration fees (typically charged annually)
- Domain renewal fees (based on the domain's TLD and duration)
- Domain transfer fees (if applicable)
- Domain restoration fees (for domains in redemption or expired grace period)
All fees are clearly displayed at checkout prior to payment.
Renewal Notifications
We send at least one renewal notice to your registered email address at least 30 days before your domain's expiry date. These reminders include details on:
- Your domain's expiry date
- The renewal cost
- How to renew via your client portal
Please ensure your contact information is always up to date.
Renewal & Expiration Policy
You may renew your domain at any point before the cancellation and deletion process begins. The steps to renew your domain are:
- Log into your Brit Hoster client portal
- Select the domain for renewal
- Choose a renewal period (from 1–10 years, depending on the TLD)
- Complete payment of the applicable fee
If not renewed by the expiry date, your domain enters a grace period (length varies by TLD) during which it can still be recovered. After this period, it will be scheduled for deletion and re-registration by the public.
Transfers & Termination
You can transfer your domain to another registrar at any time, provided that:
- All outstanding invoices are settled
- You request the transfer through your client area
- For .uk domains, you supply the new registrar's IPS tag
If you wish to cancel, you may let the domain expire or request a manual cancellation through our support team.
